2 people accused of attempting to scam LI couple out of $12K

GREAT NECK -
Police say two people have been arrested and accused of trying to scam a Great Neck couple out of $12,000.
Police say a man and woman in their 70s were contacted by two people from the Bronx.
According to police, they told the couple they needed to pay $12,000 to cover their son's medical bills in Florida.
The couple called police and when Lissette Rodriguez and Rigo Jose Batista Dominguez showed up to collect the money they were arrested.
The couple will be arraigned today.
Police ask any other potential victims to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
