Before I tell you my story I would just like to say that I have extensively read through pages and pages of topics on this site of exactly the same situation that I have gone through. I do however have a little bit of difference in my story though which is why I would like to post.

A few hours ago I thought I would try chatroulette out as I was bored. Biggest mistake I have made ever. I came across a woman with an attractive picture, we got chatting and she asked me to give her my fb link, which I did. She added me and then she suggested we talk and look at each other on skype. She added me on skype and we began to type away. She then suggested we start playing with ourselves so I went along with it and like many others on here as I was doing so was told that I had been recorded and that I would need to pay up $400.She sent me in a link to all my closest friends profiles, this really really scared me. I told her I simply do not have that money and that the best I could give her was 50. I went on to Western union to send her the money while I began searching through google for help, which is when I found this place. I had sent her the 50 but got an email saying I needed to provide ID in order for it to go through. I had seen on here that you absolutely do not pay them. I had told her that I was sure the money had gone through. She got agitated and started swearing saying it hadn't. I now know that my money won't go through as I won't be providing ID to the website, which is one positive. I then decided to block her on skype, change all my details on facebook before deactivating my account.

I know that all of this is quite regular to what others on here have experienced but what is different for me is that SHE blocked/deleted me on fb straight away. This really worries me as I cannot find her again to block her now that she has me blocked. I checked on a friends facebook profile and the womans facebook is still there so she definitely has me blocked. Should I be worried about this as all she has to do is unblock me down the line when I eventually reactivate my facebook and she can abuse me again??

Another question I would like to ask is, has there ever been a case of where the video has been sent to friends facebook inboxes or walls or has it always been just a scare tactic??

Thank you in advance for any advice given to me, I have taken great comfort from reading this site. Some wonderful and very helpful people on here. :)

sorry u were scammed mate..

that sure is a weird situation that she blocked u first...if i were u id keep ur facebook deactivated..u sent the 50, she can keep u on a 'blocked list' (probably with her other victims) unblock u at any time and demand more cash..they always come back for more..

i only know of one situation where the video of the victim was sent to the persons friends/family..this was only because this person didnt follow the EXACT steps in the blackmail thread..

block all contact of her..put google alerts to ur name..keep ur fb deactivated and lay low..u shouldnt have anything to worry about if she doesnt have contact with u..no contact = no money for her = no point in sending the video to ur friends...as u said, its often used as a scare tactic.

i wouldnt stress at all mate..take care :)

Cheers for the reply mate!

just to point out though, I did send the 50 but it will not go through to her account as I won't be providing the website with the ID necessary. It just really does worry me that she seems to have blocked me first, it doesn't make sense as once she unblocks me she would have to add me on facebook again as blocking someone deletes them, very strange. I am also very worried that even though I have deactivated my account that she could have taken my friends account details before and get onto them. worrying times but your reply is much appreciated!!

I should point out that the one instance of a scammer actually sending stuff to others wasn't as part of this kind of blackmail scam/sextortion. Yes, blackmail was involved, but it was as part of a larger scam. Please be sure to post up your scammer's details here to warn others and hopefully protect them. As for blocking you, it may simply be as a way of preventing you reporting and having their account closed. Without proof, their account can stay open and be used to scam others, which is a good thing as it means we can get their details posted to warn people and protect them.

I will get all details together and post them soon Wayne, thanks!

Am I right in saying that when/if the person unblocks me on facebook, they will need to add me again in order to talk to me/see my friends due to the privacy settings I have now altered?

I discovered a way through google to block someone on Facebook who has blocked you first without having their email address or being able to go onto their profile which was extremely helpful and makes me feel a little better. Even though I know that they can just use another profile to get at me and I should keep my profile deactivated for a few days at least, it still makes me feel better that the original profile can't get at me now.

How long ago were you scammed mate? ye I have deactivated facebook and blocked the profile on facebook as well as made my profile as private as possible, I have also deactivated twitter and blocked the user on skype. I have also set up google alerts to search for my name as well, any other suggestions that worked for you?

Thanks
