ashleyhamby66@gmail.com - ashleyhamby10 on Skype

Well, here's my story:

I went to a dating site. This girl added me, we talked for a bit. I added her on Skype upon request. Didn't happen anything really (my account was always offline until I put it online yesterday). We talked through Skype and well, you already know the whole deal. Well, she also asked me to add her on facebook which I also did. We then got into action for 3 minutes and she stopped and tried to blackmail me. 65 dollars off.

Now, you might think I got frozen because she showed me 4 people's FB and I paid her the money. Instead, she got a nice surprise as I managed to stall her blackmailing (I have no money so I had to). While she was doing that I blocked her off of my facebook and started to figure who this person was. Her name in Skype and Facebook is Ashley Hamby. Her pictures were more than likely stolen, the whole deal. Can't do much to this person if I have no hold of any grasp of real evidence. I do have her e-mail used with the facebook account: ashleyhamby66@gmail.com

I will share to you the whole story until the end. That way you'll know how to either be a great dumbass or just how to wiggle yourself some way out of the issue while you research your now-prey. She thought I would be scared and pay up. Not so. I not only rejected her blackmail advances, as a storywriter I gave it a twist and I suddenly became this troll who wanted her to go ahead and do it since I would actually enjoy it. She was amused to say the least. She told me she'd upload it and I kept mocking her. She also kept telling me to pay but I just told her that she sucked. I got so much into it I also told her to post it in a porn site. She lowered her price to 10 bucks and I mocked her because she took 1 hour and a half to let me go (that's less than 10 dollars an hour). In the end I was too sleepy so I went to sleep and thanked her for being a good play.

Now the conversation transcript I can upload it since it came out cleaner than expected if you want to see someone making fun of scammers in their own face. I sent a message to the four people she blackmailed me with this morning and made up a sap story about an ex trying to take revenge on me by releasing private footage of activities I was doing (better story than to say "I got blackmailed because I was a dumbass" and like Tim O'Brien said, to paraphrase him, the more unbelievable a story of a tragedy is the more real it gets). So far only one person got it and she did not bother with another. I still have to see about the other two persons. I am checking google often to see if they are to upload it in youtube so I can report it. So far no legal action although I threatened said person with it. Might do it next week once I figure out what kind of information are they going to ask me. Oh yes, her Skype handler is ashleyhamby10. Didn't bother to check the other two, but her name in facebook matches closely her skype handler.

One funny note though: seems even scammers find history boring TT why?! lol

Oh yes, I need to add. I already reported their facebook and skype accounts and they'll probably be closed soon, plus I just changed my primary e-mail to another one (easiest way to throw them off I think). I know it was against your advice of exposing her, but it was the best I could do at the time.

We do not recommend anyone play with their scammer. A particularly malicious scammer could send links to all a person's friends if annoyed enough. We also do not recommend you shut down FB or Skype profiles. The scammer sill simply continue what they do under a new account. It does nothing more than inconvenience them for a few minutes at most and leaves any reports made about them out of date. It does much more harm than good.

The Skype account is still active for now. Here's the avatar.

Is this the right one, Wolx?

Please stop talking to this criminal Wolx. You will get no evidence for legal action or arrest. They use fake names and all other information is fake. Drop them, as they have your real life information, and if you continue to aggravate them, you will end up the loser. They might just decide to post you at 50 websites, and they may change details, which will hurt many more people and YOU will be responsible for the change. Block them in skype, FB, email, and say nothing. Think about other people, and not just yourself, please. Read our FAQ to learn why.
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.

Wayne and SlapHappy:

Yes, she is the right one. And I already dropped all communications with said person (I too, am concerned about my reputation, and I wanted to mitigate the spread of such vid as much as possible within my network [I don't think anyone can blame me of m***urbating to be honest, I think everyone in my contacts knows I do it and it's a man's thing, but it still is kind of distasteful]). She is blocked off on facebook and skype. And I already changed my primary e-mail address on facebook to make myself a bit harder to find. I did protect myself before by using a lot of security measures, including putting my friends' list in private, restricting tags, all of that.

I went to a dating site

Since you managed to erase all traces demonstrating that the scammer ever exist, do you have even "her" profile from this dating site? Sure "she" play same game with other victims and can be helpful for them if we can find her online "face" or other fake profiles used.

Firefly:

I did everything but report e-mail (I never do it because it's a more permanent record of a person, unlike facebook which name can be changed, and accounts can be disabled if found out [I've also used disposable profiles for pranks on online friends, I would not be surprised if these people use the same tactic]). As for the site, I do have the message records, so I'll pull up the profile link when I can.

EDIT: Would doing an IP trace from e-mail headers and then putting it up here be a successful tactic in this case to expose such people?

Taking into account that the scammer uses a gmail - nope. You will never find one real IP in this case. And even if you manage to find one, so long you are in one country and your scammer is in another one, hard to believe your police has jurisdiction there...

Interesting update: I just got into reviewing the scammer's actions. It seems as if it was only because said person was desperate in getting money for his phone, it is a prepaid working on Smart Communications. The number of the cell phone is 09496828554. It is a cell phone issued in the Philippines. I sincerely wonder what has the world come to as I type this.

Here is her facebook if you are wondering: FB /profile.php?id=100004217170787 and I found another one which would also be hers I believe FB /ashley.hamby.921. It seems like one of these is fake-copied.

I doubt facebook will get around to the complaint. I have made complaints in the past about people and they have just fell on deep sea water.
