I recently got myself into the same situation with a girl who claimed to be from Los Angeles. She added me on facebook where we began to chat to eachother which then led to skype etc.

"she" recorded me on webcam and then threatened me by saying i needed to pay £200 or she would show all my facebook friends and family and put the footage on porn sites etc. I immediately deleted and blocked her off both skype and facebook and set up google alerts, I havent had anyone contact me since and so far nothing seems to have been but onto facebook or any other sites.

Is there anything else you can suggest i do? or shall i just wait it out and see what happens? I haven't deleted my facebook account but my privacy settings are all set to friends etc.

Hello, I was being blackmailed by some girl on messenger. We did some caming together and she has recorded a video of myself. She has posted the video on YouTube, i flagged it and youtube took it down. She has been trying to blackmailme but I have managed to maintain my composure and not give in. She has asked for 3000 euros, what a b1tch . I was talking to her I thought it was some French girl but she is actually from the Ivory coast. She asked for my Facebook but i don't use one, she asked for skype i din't give her skype. The messenger account i use is a fake one with a fake name but it has my first name on it. I am worried that she will post the video on youtube again or other web sites. It was a stupid mistake which I regret, usually i don't go really bother with these type of sites but i was having a tough time with my studying so i thought i'd do it for a laugh. You got any advice ??

I am being blackmailed with a video from Skype. The person blackmailing me has asked for £700 by tonight and knows my name, address and DOB and Is threatening to release the video to my friends and family as I believe he hacked my facebook account as well as hacking my computer and being able to see everything I do. He is threatening to go to the police and says that the girl was underage, although Im unsure about this. Don't know what to do??

Can you give us some more details? I have a sneaking suspicion I may know where they're from. Did they send you any files, and if they did what were they called? Basically post up all the details you have on them and be sure to run a complete antivirus check on your system before blocking them. It may even be worth reinstalling Windows onto your system.

I am getting emails from an email address called "video541541@hotmail.com" which I think has been created just for this scam. What other details do you need that will help? I think I have tracked the person and they are in the U.S. possibly in Redmond, although not 100% sure

They also sent me 2 videos so far, one was an edited clip of a longer video he said, and the other was of him sending messages to 2 of my facebook friends which he also had my name and full address on

Redmond is The Hotmail HQ, so you can ignore that one. If they sent emails, then post up the headers (after you remove your details). Post up all the details you were given as well as any photos and links to videos (best to PM the link to either myself or a forum mod). Basically the more you post the better.
