We're having a number of people who are questioning some of the steps we outline in our "read this first" thread, viewtopic.php?f=20&t=580 or our main link here www.blackmailscams.com, or and deciding not to bother with ones that they don't like. Let me say that we wouldn't be telling you to do them if we didn't think they were absolutely essential. We don't pull these things out of our asses, they're proven to work in over 99.9% of the cases we've dealt with. So here's the deal. If you decide not to follow every step to the letter and the scammer comes back, don't come crying to us. We gave you all the steps needed. If you decide to ignore them, then on your own head be it. For example, "deactivate FB for four weeks" means deactivate it for four weeks, not 2 days or a couple of hours or even skip it altogether. We've dealt with over 25,000 cases and know what needs to be done to give people the best chance of getting over this scam. This experience is what we give you. It's up to you whether or not you follow it.

I will also make a comment regarding not deactivating FB for the length of time we advise.
If you do not do this, it gives the scammer the opportunity to find you through your friends, and also to try to scam them as well. Do you want a bigger mess like that? Do you want to hand over new victims to the scammer, your friends? Think hard about that. Better yet, don't think at all, just follow the advice and do your thinking weeks later.

Give us the CORRECT scammer info; It's IMPORTANT

Unread postby Wayne » Sun Mar 23, 2014 5:11 pm

OK, so here's the situation right now. I've just received a feedback form where the Skype username is listed as "sara karim". This is NOT the Skype username. What we have there is the person's supposed name. They're two completely different things. A Skype username is unique to each person and has no spaces in it. A Skype name is just a name, and there can be hundreds of people on Skype that share it. In this instance, we have over 100 people with the name Sara Karim and no way to know which one is the scammer. This is far from the first time we've had this happen. We're good, but we can only work with the information we're given. So please people, when we ask for the Skype username, post up the actual Skype username and not the name. We even explain on the form how to find it:

Scammer's Skype username . THE NAME WILL HAVE NO SPACES IN IT.:

For example:
Scammer's Skype name.: alena <<Lots of people can share this same name.
Scammer's Skype username .: live:alenamarka00 << This is the skype name we want, the EXACT profile ID name that identifies the exact scammer. Only one person can have this name.

We can only help you if you help us to do it.

We encourage you to go to www.blackmailscams.com, and use the "Readme first" topic listed above as additional information on the scam, how it is run, and any other questions you might be wondering about. All of them are answered in that topic.

If you would like to read a topic where only the 10th victim decided not to follow the steps as we advise and let the scammer follow through on his threats, please read this topic. It is a good example of "cutting corners" on the advice, or ignoring it for whatever reason.

WE CAN ONLY HELP PEOPLE IF THEY’RE WILLING TO HELP THEMSELVES.

Over the past 2.5 years we’ve dealt with tens of thousands of cases of online fraud. One scam in particular we see more than any other, and that’s the blackmail scam/sextortion. Through those cases, we’ve come up with the best solution to deal with it. However, we still get people who ask for our help and then completely ignore it. Would you go to a mechanic to have your car fixed, have him tell you that you need a new part and then ignore him and decide that all it actually needs is for the windscreen washer fluid to be topped up? If your doctor told you that you needed a new heart valve, would you go off and just take a few antacids instead? We’re considered experts for a reason. Our advice is sound, and it works in almost 100% of cases provided people actually follow the advice. The kicker is, some then come back after being contacted again by the scammer asking for more advice, despite the fact they completely ignored it the first time. It’s not rocket science. Trust the people who know what they’re talking about.

Still Haven't Closed All Your Online Accounts?

Unread postby SlapHappy » Fri Jan 15, 2016 4:01 am

Re-posted here from another topic.

The object of doing all the steps is to stay offline all of your social accounts, hidden everywhere, no matter what happens, until they are long gone. Deviation on your part from what we tell you is important to do is your own responsibility, and done at your own peril. If your scammer finds one of your accounts open, he WILL escalate the scam.

Don't play Whack-A-Mole with the scammer, where YOU are the MOLE.
Keeping any account open or popping your head up online too early, even for a couple of minutes, and getting whacked may hurt. It will not be a sweet little game like this: youtube.com/watch?v=Q_udqEp_YR4

If you purposely give us the wrong skype ID, you get no help

Unread postby SlapHappy » Wed Mar 09, 2016 6:12 pm

I'm seriously getting sick and tired of people giving the wrong information for the skype ID of the scammer, or incorrect other information in the form. I KNOW that some of you DO IT PURPOSELY, in the mistaken belief that the scammer will somehow be able to tell that YOU were the one who reported them, and are then somehow are more "safe" if you give us the WRONG INFO in the form. This is far from the truth. Scammers try to nail 30-40 people a day, and have no idea who posted it, as your info is not posted here. So, cut the shit, and STOP MISSPELLING.

What actually happens when you do this is that you may name a person who is NOT A SCAMMER, accusing an innocent person of a scam.
Doing this to "somehow protect yourself" is dead wrong. And it severely pisses me off, too.

It will cause me to do more work to find the REAL SCAMMER SKYPE ID, and that pisses me off, too.
We do this work for free here, and if you deliberately make our work harder and make it harder for other victims to find the REAL SKYPE ID or any other information, you will be on my shit list, and will get ZERO personal help from me.

Got it? Good.
End of story.
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.
