Nimcare Insurance - nimcareinsurance.com

Unread postby firefly » Sat May 30, 2020 10:22 pm

On May 21, The North Dakota attorney general office posted a public warning about a work-at-home scam amid COVID-19 - https://attorneygeneral.nd.gov/news/bog ... ck-address:

BOGUS WORK AT HOME ONLINE JOB OFFER USES BISMARCK ADDRESS
May 21, 2020

BISMARCK, ND - Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem warns that scam artists are taking advantage of the current unemployment crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic to create bogus websites offering phony “work from home” opportunities.

One recently reported scam website uses a street address in Bismarck, ND. The fake business, Nimcare Insurance (nimcareinsurance.com) claims to be located in downtown Bismarck. There is no such company in Bismarck – or anywhere else in North Dakota. The business is a sham.

In the work from home scam, the unsuspecting victim clicks on a link in a spam email or online ad, completes the “application” and is quickly offered a job. The job titles vary, but often include “quality control” or “inventory inspection” duties. The most common is a “re-shipping” scam where the victim is “hired” to pick up returned merchandise from UPS/Fed Ex, inspect it, and create a new shipping label. In fact, the victims are being used to receive and ship stolen or counterfeit merchandise, and become an unwitting accomplice to a crime.

Other common work from home scams include the “mystery shopper” and the “car wrap” scams, where the victim receives a check along with instructions on what to do with the check to complete the transaction. The checks are counterfeit. Days or weeks after cashing the check, it will bounce. Any money the victim kept now disappears and is gone. On top of that, the victim may be on the hook for paying the bank back for the fake check. Victims report that because they received a check up front, they did not realize it was a scam until it was too late.

The “fake business website” scam has been around for many years. It is common for scam artists to use fake websites to trick people into making online payments for advertised deals on items that do not exist. The scammers add a fake street address or use the actual address of an unsuspecting business to make it appear there is a physical location associated with the website. According to Stenehjem, fake business websites are becoming more common.

“Never assume a business website and business address you are unfamiliar with are legitimate or you could become the next scam victim and lose your money,” said Stenehjem.

Fraudulent websites used in similar job scams by the same fraud gang of Russian origins were previously reported on our forum in https://scamsurvivors.com/forum/viewtop ... =6&t=57623 and https://scamsurvivors.com/forum/viewtop ... 17&t=58053.

What they are offering:

A Home-Based Insurance Agent (An HBIA) primarily works from his own residence.
As an HBIA, you will receive the goods which are, for some reason, not obtained by store customers who we have a contract with for this particular service.
On top of that, the agent receives the goods confiscated by our Anti-Fraud Department specialists. Stores get a compensation for such merchandise. After that we redeem these products and redirect them to our agents.
The Agent's task is to ascertain that the item is suitable for further reimplementation and examine the original packaging to see if it has been opened or damaged. Electronics do not require verification of their functionality can be witnessed by the factory packaging. After the agent’s report, these goods will be distributed to our various warehouses for their further utilization. We recruit agents in as many cities as possible to minimize our transportation costs of the products delivered to such agents due to a wide geography of the business.
The goods will be either sent in previous buyer's name and an agent's address or with an invoice written in agent's names. It all depends on when the return of the goods takes place. If it is an interception, then the package will be in buyer's names and the agent's address indicated on it. If the original purchase is rejected or never picked up from the store, we redeem the parcel and, due to such situation, the item will be sent in the agent's name and address. The invoice will have the agent's information indicated on it to make sure the asset reaches the agent safe and sound. The purchasing cost is, by all means, covered by the company.
Occasionally, you might need to pick-up returned merchandise from the nearest Stores or Ups/FedEx facilities.
(Within 25-mile radius from your address)
After the parcel inspection you will be supplied with a new shipping label for the merchandise.
All packages should be shipped as swiftly as possible after you have received the shipping label. Packages are to be sent in 1-2 business days after the delivery.

TRAINING:

Training will begin with a four-week probationary period. During this period, you will receive a step-by-step guidance of the duties required. All communication will be done between the two parties (you and us). The trial period begins on the date you inspect and re-ship the first package you received.

SALARIES:

During the first four weeks of your being with us, your wage is going to be $2,150.00. After your probationary period, you will be getting $3,150.00 monthly as a base salary.

COSTS:
Repackaging materials, mileage, printer supplies will be reimbursed.

AMOUNT OF PACKAGES:

You are to handle anywhere between 5 and 15 packages per week.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

1. Printer: Black and white is good enough; you are going to need to print out the prepaid shipping labels, so that packages could be sent.
2. Any software to be able to open PDF files (Adobe Reader or any free PDF viewer).
3. Internet access so you could check your e-mail for information updates, perform communication and track packages online.
4. Ability to receive packages right to your door (no mailboxes accepted).
5. Basic Excel skills.
