The fake website claims to be an escrow company named NNL-Transport v/Nikolaj N Laursen. The fraudsters stole the identity of a real company.

The fraudsters post ads on online classifieds with used vehicles. The victim establish the contact after finding the ad. The story is always the same: the seller claims to be an University professor living in Sweden who decided to sell his car before traveling abroad for a longer period of time. After agreeing on the price, the seller directs the victim to a so called escrow company supposedly located in Denmark. The victim is asked to pay the agreed price to the escrow company. The escrow company contact the victim to confirm that they will release the money to the seller only after the car arrived and the buyer is satisfied with the purchase.

The car doesn't exist. The Swedish University professor and the fake escrow company are the same. The real company impersonated in scam has nothing to do with the fraudsters stealing their identity and using it in fraud.

From the fake site:

NNL-transport v/Nikolaj N Laursen currently ships an average of 1500 cars every month from all over the Europe to the rest of the world. In addition, we ship hundreds of motorcycles, boats, RVs and other vehicles of any kind.
With over 70 employees dedicated to making your shipping experience as pleasant as possible. We have an excellent reputation worldwide in our industry as well as in online consumer forums.

Watch out for https:/ /jjctrans.com
The story changes but it’s the same premise to get you to pay a delivery company with the promise of having the vehicle delivered.
The name of the company and the design of the website is always changing.

JJC Transport - jjctrans.com

Unread postby firefly » Fri Jan 29, 2021 8:19 pm

Thank you for the update, wildworld.

JJC Transport / Jesper Christensen Transport claims to be an escrow company using a fraudulent website active from the domain name jjctrans.com.

The real Jesper Christensen Transport ApS is legally registered in Denmark since 2006 and has no connection with the fraudsters impersonating them online.

From the fake website:

Our company officially began operations on April 17, 1995, with 189 team members. That night, 4 small aircrafts and 25 trucks took off from Rome and delivered 186 packages to 25 European cities from London, UK, to Paris, France. Though the company did not show a profit until July 1996, it soon became the premier carrier of high-priority goods in the marketplace and set the standard for the express shipping industry it established.
By the 2000s, our company was well established. Its growth rate was compounding at about 40 percent annually, and competitors were trying to catch up. In fiscal year 2001, it reported $100 million in revenues, making Ireland business history as the first company to reach that financial hallmark inside 5 years of startup without mergers or acquisitions.

Our company offers a full range of Car Transport Services across the Europe and more. We have many years of experience in the movement of all types of vehicles including new car delivery, Super Car logistics, European Repatriations and even HGV recovery.
