It's been 24hrs since l was scammed but in that time l have reported to Action Fraud what has happened.
Found this Website/Forum with so much information on that l followed the instructions to the letter about deleting all my social media and sticking FB as deactivated which l will leave for 2 months.
Setup another email address (already have but don't use)
Told my closest friends what l did, didn't leave anything out. That was tough to do.
Stopped everything l possibly can do.
Set up Google Alerts, so far nothing but that may change.
I didn't pay over any money, thankfully. This site helped me with that.
I don't feel good, l feel betrayed and violated.
Originally l was going to hunt these people but after speaking to the Police and reading the material on here l have done nothing!
Thank you very much for your Guides and information, hopefully l will feel better soon.

I'm glad you found our site too. Action fraud will do little if nothing to help.
If you indeed followed all of the outlined steps then all you really need to do is wait and be vigilant.

News Channel Help!

Unread postby Mandrake » Thu Oct 13, 2022 10:56 am

Apparently l am on some news Channel harassing some girl
and the FBI are looking for me.
Had an email from a woman called Angela Wall's who says l am
over the news.
I have checked Google Alerts and there is nothing.
What else can l do?
I am in the UK
The video they showed me was a picture of me but it
wasn't moving.
I couldn't see all the text scrolling underneath.
CBTV was the Channel.
What do l do?

I seriously doubt the FBI is looking for you especially if you've not done anything illegal. If you find the supposed video then report it to the host and ask that it be taken down. Apparently the scammer found a way to contact you so block that avenue. The last thing you should do is break silence with the scammer.

I can't find the video at all, l was shown it on CBTV but they don't seem to exist. I know nothing about American channels.
This woman l have dealings with says its on the News but l don't know what news and there wasn't a link.
When l was chatting with the scammer it was just a video embed but not a video.
1 picture and scrolling words underneath which l couldn't read.
The woman in question l blocked from Google Chat because she kept going on about signing up to a company which deals in Bitcoin which l wasn't interested in.
Just seems strange it's only her.

I blocked him on Google Chat as that's what your guide said to do.

I would ignore it for now and keep watch on the Google Alerts.
We can't do much about any video if we can't find it.

I have spoken to one of my American friends who l confessed to about all this and she has checked that there is nothing on any channel or online about me.
Google Alerts is saying nothing as well.
Maybe the scammer has got hold of some emails and sending out to them.

It's just a scare tactic used by West African sextortion scammers. At least they didn't tell you you were going to be on the front page of La Figaro, or on the "Ellen the generous" show. Take a step back and think about it. Would any channel REALLY show a naked video of some (and I mean no disrespect saying this) unknown schlub? Of course not! It's all complete bullshit from the scammer trying to scare you into paying. If he can't contact you, he can't threaten you, and if he can't threaten you he'll move on. That's how it works.

Hello, I'm glad to have found you. But it's been 15 months. After the first day I was blackmailed, they contacted me once again and never called again.

My question is:

They only know my phone number and name. They don't know my last name. I've never had social media. But because I am a psychologist and I give seminars, there are institutions that have shared my photo in the past. Can they find me again after this time? What should I do? Am I saved now?

By the way, the scam is a Moroccan. Did they delete my video? Did they delete my phone number?

Can they have my real name from my phone number?

After 15 months the scammer has moved on to other victims.
You should go to our blackmail website by clicking the bubble above that says "Webcam Blackmail Help" or the link below.
Please fill out the form you will find there with as much information as possible concerning the scammer.
Then do all of the steps if you are still concerned the scammer might try to contact you.
