From a Survivor:

I am truly grateful for all the support and help you offered me with my scammer issue.

recently i was talking to a friend and we got on to this subject and it turned out she has been scammed as well in a slightly different way. she has reported and since stopped all contact with this person but didn't know your forum existed. She asked me if I would be able to send her story to you as she is still not dealing with it as well as I have with mine.

she again had joined a dating app ( did not specify which ) and began the chat with a man identifying as Marcus. This chat moved to whatsapp and for well over a month or so. Marcus convinced her to partake in some crypto trading and talked her through how to do it as he had a good trading plan for her from his uncle.

so she thought to give it a try and they traded in crypto ( not specified how much). Marcus helped talk her through the in and outs and then helped her move it back to her account. They continued chatting for a few more weeks then again the crypto trading came up. This time he convinced her to put more in at the trading plan for a higher amount.

she did but it wasn't fast enough so he needed more. she said by now she was very unsure and started to question all his replies. Then a message for the platform to charge to do updates happened and he said yes this happens when the update happens. so she did as they instructed but then the messages stopped. She had a rough idea on how to transfer the money back to a wallet but the platform kept refusing the transfer and Marcus would not respond.

This was when she said she knew she wasn't getting that money back. The scammer never asked for any bank details or personal details, she said and no other details from him.

She has provided me with as many photos but didn't take any screenshots. attached are all the photos she still has had.

Once a Scammer gets control of the money it is extremely difficult to get it back.
Your best chance is to go to your local police department and file a fraud report.
Then take the police report to wherever you sent the money through and try to get any payments reversed.

Please post as much information as possible concerning the scammer.
E-mails, E-mail addresses, Photographs and Fake documents, Phone numbers, & places you were asked to send money are all helpful.

If you are not sure what to post then you can simply forward the information to my E-mail address which is in my signature line below.
