This is a conversation I had with my nephew after the guy tried to scam me:
So I was right to be suspicious of that guy. The red flags started flying yesterday morning. He claimed he had to go to Rio to buy 350 tons of Brazilian hardwoods. Then he sent a bunch of pictures to prove he was there, but when I downloaded them, it automatically sorted them into a folder dated Aug 8, 2018 and when I clicked details for the pics, that's the date it said they were taken. Then, he texted and said he was going to dinner and there was nothing more. About 4:30 in the morning he emailed and claimed he was mugged and they stole his bag with his laptop and documents and apparently his wallet. He claimed a nurse was helping him write the email, but the police had found his phone and were holding it. So then he texted last night and said he had been discharged from the hospital and had his phone, and that he had reported his cards stolen and they were sending a replacement overnight courier. Then he texted again and said they wouldn't send a replacement card overseas so he was waiting on a bank transfer of $250,000 to complete his project, but it would take 3 days. Then this money, he finally asked for a loan that he would pay back Thursday...

...I told him no, and he said he was very disappointed in me. I said I was sorry if I had misjudged him, but my nephew, the police officer, had warned me about scammers. Then I said, "What part of the fact that I lost my home and everything in a fire, and have been off work for a month did you not understand." LOL I haven't heard from him since

I too have been scammed by "James Fischer" . I am out quite a bit of money. This all started 4 years ago when I meet him on a dating website. I was a new widow and he did say the right things.

I have unfortunately deleted some of his pictures, but I do recognize the ones that have been posted.

I am still in contact with him as he keeps promising to pay me back. I need help in finding this guy.

His new number is 902-905-4181. It is a vOIP number from Nova Scotia. James claims to be in Germany with his mom and needs money to get back to NY. I asked why he has a Nova Scotia number and he claims that he is using a friend's phone.

How can I help him be found?

jenp70,

I am sorry you got defrauded by this scammer.

He will keep you hooked with lies as long as he can. He will never pay back a single cent from what he stole from you.

Report the case to your police. This is the only legal way you can use for such cases.

If you want to help other victims avoid this fraudster, please share all the details you have about him here or forward the messages / pictures / documents he sent to me. My email address is below.
Help yourself by helping others - report your scammer here.
Google can be your best friend;use it if you have doubts about someone met online. If someone met online only asks for money, no matter what reason, it´s 100% scam.
