Here's some screenshots from our conversations in Tinder and hangouts. "Keskiviikko" means wednesday so it all happened real quickly. He tried to call me, "puhelu" means phone call.

I met him as David Wilson on Tik Tok and then moved to whatsapp and he gave me his snapchat.

Whatsapp: +1 (323) 831-8412
Snapchat: d_dave8190
From California

He said his dog's name was Jack. When i reverse image searched him i came up with Jeff Sorenson. When i asked him about it he told me it was his work page and he uses that alias for his online stuff so that people can't find him in real life. I asked about the girl in the profile pic and he said it was his ex and she locked him out of the account because she was mad that he broke up with her because she cheated on him. So we talked more and he asked me to get him a steam card so he could upgrade his phone. It seemed weird to me so i asked him to video chat with me and would never answer my calls but would call back and the video would be choppy and he'd hanfg up and say it was a bad connection. I got him to voice chat with me once and when we were done i meassaged him and asked him why his voice didn't match the voice on his facebook and ig videos and he got upset. When i kept asking about it and refusing to buy the card he told me he was going to get mad and block me for not trusting him and i said to go ahead and do it. Then he kept trying to make me feel bad and i sent him a screen shot of the reverse image search and highlighted all the places it said scam and he stopped all communications.

avanhorn09,

Thanks for the added information. But the next time anyone asks for money, no matter what the reason, you know they are a scammer. At that exact point, break all communications with them. Do not tell them they are a scammers, or that you will report their profiles here.
Just drop them cold, with no replies.

What site/app did you first meet the scammer on?: Pof
What email address(es) did the scammer use?: None
What phone number(s) did the scammer use?: (204)819-1835, (320)279-4906
Briefly explain what happened during the scam. : Texted on pof and he could not type in proper English and said he had an accent, said his mom died 5 years ago and his dad died 2 years ago and his wife cheated on him with his best friend and he is retired from the military but was on a secret mission in West Africa! Then he said his phone was stolen and borrowed someone’s phone from the military which is why his number changed and he needed $500 because he wanted to come home to Canada but lost his debit card so he couldn’t pay to leave to go home. He also did a video chat with me which looked like he was recording a video of the actual Jeff Sorenson, I don’t know how but it was definitely a video of Jeff Sorenson... many of the photos I uploaded of him I could not find on google images also but it’s obviously a scam!
Did you send any money to the scammer? : No
