Jan 12 first text
“David Anderson" connected with me on FB dating and started to talk and text. He said he was in love with me and talked about how he was doing a large oil deal and would look after me. He gave me a website for his business. he also had a LinkedIn profile that matched his description and the photo. There were some red flags that I ignored. He used three phone numbers and Skype. The numbers did not have a voice mail which was odd. I also couldn't find information on him when I googled. He told me he liked to be private. He told me not to tell my friends about him. Which was odd. He was talking or texting me two or three times a day for about a month.
He said he was gay and his husband had died of cancer four years ago. He was half Brazilian and had a graduate degree in engineering. After we started talking he told me he was going to NY and then to Istanbul. He sent me some documents that showed a large oil deal. He promised to be there for me.
The final red flag was that he needed to pay taxes to get the deal. The letter was for $170,000 and he said he had $100,000. He said that he would try and find the money and he didn't know what to do. I talked with him because it didn’t make sense. If you can do a multi-million dollar deal you can find 100k and you would know about this upfront.
I googled his name but did not find anything but when I googled the company name and his name and he came up on a number of scamming sites.

David Anderson (same photos of Ivan Alekhin)
https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C5CH ... 40&bih=726

He sent me photos of him including some x rated ones.

Three profiles on Linkedin
https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-anderson-33730b1b0/
https://www.linkedin.com/in/ivan-alekhin-5a099177/
https://www.linkedin.com/in/ivan-alekhin-594b611a0/

Used these phone numbers
208 481 4961
661 339 8430
661 339 7241

Skype
David Oil

Then used WhatsApp even though we had never communicated on that.
These numbers which 44 is the UK
44 746 700 648 (had photo and message was from David Anderson)
48 732 121 157 (biz account) assume it is the same scam

I have documents he sent with information about the deal.

Please pass this along. It seems he (or the group that is doing this) target dating sites - straight and gay. I am smart and run a business but I almost sent money to help him out.

Thank you for your detective work. I never emailed David Anderson but he gave me this address:

contactdavidmobi@aol.com

Luckily I didn't give him mine.

He sent something to me but it is not the address I use for business and does not tie to any other information.

Five days after I blocked him he has stopped trying to contact me. We shall see.

Today David Anderson used WhatsApp to contact me using
424 420 3805
Called me 10 times and also texted. Upset that I had stopped calling him and blocked him. Said he loved me.
Then sent naked photographs I had exchanged with him and said he would share them with my social media and to my business contacts if I didn't talk to him. He sent screenshots of my company and an article I was just published in. He also sent the images of two men who were on a sex offender list and said did I know who they were and that he would tell Ginny. I did not know those people were so I think he may have got his victims mixed up at that point!
I reported it to the Internet Crime Complaint Center and to the FBI.
I blocked him and reported the number. I saved the texts and the calls.
Any advice about what to do.
Should I report to the police?
I also contacted a lawyer. Does that seem wise?
Blocking him makes the most sense.
THANKS

Yes, report him to the police. Contacting a lawyer really won't help you as he's in a different country.
Blocking him is a good idea, but deleting and later changing all your online accounts is better and change your phone number right now.

That dating site is a paid one - meaning only registered members can see the profile.

Try please to add the screen name he is using, the pictures posted on that profile and the details of that account.

You can use my email address (posted below) for sending all the information you have and I can update your post here after receiving the details.

Any new element may save someone else.
