No E-mail address on the letter. Just a phone number to call, my correct address from 2 years ago (Mom & Dad's), and I believe they have been calling them trying to contact me. (They have been getting calls that hang up when my Mother answers)

After writing my post, below, I decided to REVERSE SEARCH the phone number. The result: no such number!! How are we able to call such a non-existent number??? I also found a link to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (bbb.org) in my google search for the above phone number. They have a TOP SCAMS information page with help on how to avoid any type of scam.

THIS IS HOW THEY, the scammers who are responsible for this particular scam letter, MAKE THEIR MONEY.
First, you have to understand that THERE ARE NO AIRLINE TICKETS! If you were to call you would be asked to CHARGE TO YOUR CREDIT CARD a payment to cover what the scammers are saying are "Taxes, registration fees and/or processing fees...." for these NON-EXISTENT AIRLINE TICKETS (see paragraph, below, QUOTED from the BACK of YOUR LETTER). PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE--DON'T GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFO OR CREDIT CARD NUMBERS---EVER !!!!

Look on the BACK of your letter. You will see this paragraph:
"Certain Restrictions Apply. Call For Details. Taxes & registration fees and/or processing fees are the reponsibility of the recipient. This promotiion is not sponsored by or affiliated with US Airlines or any other third party business referenced in this promotion but they are major suppliers."

Has anyone receiving this scam letter recently searched for anyone on PEOPLE SMART (peoplesmart.com) ????? The scammers addressed this letter in an unusual way, and I can't remember where I've seen it written like this before. PEOPLE SMART is the only place I've registered recently for a free month trial. In the address on my letter, this scammer used my LEGAL FIRST NAME, which I never go by, A MIDDLE INITIAL, which is the first letter of my MAIDEN name (not my actual middle initial), and finally, MY MARRIED LAST NAME. If I can find out who this scammer bought my name and address from, I can at least chew on that seller--give THEM some grief!

Thank you for listening.

Scammers get their victim lists from mostly the victims themselves, posting their real information somewhere online. It could be in the open, or the information could have been hacked from websites. Some scammers will collect potential victim information and sell it to other scammers, but real marketing companies do not do this. Scammers all use fake identities, so catching those responsible is near impossible. Those numbers could also be redirected to anywhere in the world, so tracing them is also difficult.

On constructive thing you could do is to give the letter to your local postmaster. They may report the scam to a postal inspector for warnings to others and follow up. And as usual, report scammer details like Big Al did above your post in this topic.
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.
