Are there any other details you wish to share? Anything you say may help prevent someone else from being scammed, no matter how trivial it may seem at the time.: I met this person through Kik. We chatted a while before they invited me to skype. I have skyped with this person several times now and they would even do things that I requested, so I felt a little more confident and able to trust them. I am always a little skeptical though, so I did a google image search from their Kik profile picture and found this forum. I know the person I was skyping with looks identical to Dayana Sosa, so I don't really know what's going on.

It says that the Skype ID flaws20 is dead.

Does it have any impact on those who got recorded but weren't demanded money yet? Should we take any relief on it?

Makes no difference, so long as the steps we outline were followed to the letter.

Yes, sure.

But if they want to scam me, they need to contact me. I gather they usually do this by starting a second skype call with you and saying 'hey, remember that night of ours? It's on youtube! Give me money'.

Though if their Skype ID is dead, I'm not on their contact list anymore and they need to add me again to reach me. Right?

They still have my email, but extorting me by email is not the best way since there's no guarantee the victim will receive the message - it may be filtered and end up in the spam box and most people don't allow automatic reading receipts. I think they need to add me again on Skype to make sure the extortion will go through. Or am I wrong in my reasoning here?

The same goes to Facebook. Even if they manage to find my profile and send me a PM there, it will probably go to that "Others" box and I won't be notified. They won't know if they were successful in contacting me.

Hence the question. Obviously I won't accept any friend request by strangers. I won't respond - nor even open - any emails by strangers. My Skype won't accept calls or IMs from people out of my contact list, it's on my settings since ever.

That said, could I take any relief on their previous Skype ID being dead?

Sorry for asking the same thing again, but I think I rephrased it better is time. All the previous security steps you guys advise will continue to be followed, that goes without saying!

That's not how it happens. Again, if you followed all the steps, the scammer can not only no longer contact you, but any attempts to contact you from any account lead to dead ends - and that's if they even try that. Then they move on and try to get money from others. It makes no difference if the account is shut down or not in this case. Provided the steps are followed they have no way to contact you anyway.
